Why Reaching Gen Z Is Critical for Your Business
If you’re still scratching your head about how to effectively market to, and capture, the attention of millenials in today’s real estate market then we’re really going to have your head spinning when you read these stats about Generation Z.
According to this recent study from CMO.com, Gen Z (anyone born after 1995) represents a huge audience of people that happen to be the first “mobile first” generation of consumers. This group is voracious about gathering information and can do so much faster than any other generation before them. By 2020, this group will account for 40% of all consumers.
They have an average of five different devices (TV, laptop, smartphone, iPad/tablet, desktop) and have an attention span of just eight seconds. You read that correctly. Eight seconds. The speed at which this audience can process information is so fast because of the enormous amount of processing they do online all day, every day.
While the oldest members of Gen Z are just over 18 years old today, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t consider this audience when it comes to real estate marketing. This group of savvy mobile users are helping educate their parents about technology. When a Gen Z’s parents are house shopping so are the kids…they’re just doing it differently than their Gen X parents. The best way to stay on the cutting-edge of where real estate marketing is headed is to identify the buyers and sellers of the future and meet them where they’re headed. With this group, it’s all about using mobile always and in all ways.
