Email vs. Text – Grabbing Consumer Attention
You have seconds, literally just seconds, to grab consumer attention. So, when you’re trying to decide how best to invest your marketing dollars (and your time) here are a few things to ponder:
Did you know?
- 62% of all emails are opened from a mobile device (Source: Econsultancy)
- 70% of consumers delete emails that don’t render on a mobile device (Source: www.bluehornet.com)
- 90% of all SMS is read within three minutes (Source: Conversational Advertising)
And, if those stats don’t speak to you…how about this one: 98% of all text messages are opened (compared to a measly 20% of emails). (Source: Techipedia)
Think about it, most of us have our smartphones glued to our hands. It’s the first think you look at in the morning and the last thing you read before you go to sleep (much to the chagrin of your spouse or partner).
